What a cool way to look at life Carol. I bet you still lie on the beach and make things out of the clouds.

I think if I had understood the Hidden Mickey’s game when I visited Disney, I would have had much more fun on my trip.

I love this game but always thought of it as “Hidden pictures”, and I almost always remember to play when I am stuck in traffic. The contrast of being stuck in traffic always seems to fade away when I find something I love in the landscape.

These hidden gems, as you call them, are all the more sparkling when I’m stuck in a situation that I had not expected or wanted, and I spot another of these little gifts from the universe. Just another little reminder of why I am here.

Great article!! I smiled the whole way through and thought to myself how does he do it? You have a beautiful gift Joe of reminding me (and all of us really) how to be more conscious in our day. I love, love this concept of a "hidden Mickey" and no, would never had experienced that aspect at Disney so I'm pleased you bring it to my vocabulary.

Thoughtful, conscious, daily experience. Isn't that why we have all chosen to be here?

To your question...what is one hidden mickey from where I sit?

Well, living where I do now in the spring the sun comes up very early in the mornings (around 5:30am or so) and it has become disturbing to my sleep pattern for several weeks. My beloved had the great idea to take a piece of his cherished black velvet fabric (normally used for photography) and he draped it over the outlying areas of the window that has been waking me.

I can tell you for the first time in weeks I was able to sleep soundly beyond 8am and it felt really good.

Thanks for the awakening to "hidden mickey's" and I'm excited to start looking around for these in my day and indeed planting a few myself for others. =)
